How To Connect Your 2.4 GHz Smart Home Device to Mesh Internet
#MeshInternet #HowTo #SmartHome
This video is a little different from our usual stuff. We’re posting a product review video on Tuesday and this particular product required me to do a little research on how to connect smart home devices to the internet is you’ve got mesh internet. I hope you find this little trick to be helpful.

You absolute legend! Such a simple way around the issue but I’d have never have thought about it. Thank you for making the video and my life easier.
Why Google just let people manually choose! This is a headache with my ring device. So stupid
But when you come back itll be back again on 5G?
Hi do we have to turn phone data off to do this ?
I'm trying to add a Sceptre tv to eero and can't figure this out can you help.
Good info. Is there a way to keep the device connected to 2.4? My device bounces back and forth and of course when it bounces to the 5g it disconnects
It doesn't work!!
Too complicated
I have a Starlink dual band router. Tried to split frequencies, so I could set up my floodlight cameras to 2.4 ghz frequency. Can't seem to get 5ghz frequency to disconnect. Any advice on making this a bit easier ? TY
Once you walk back and connect to the 2.4ghz, will it keep you on there if you keep moving closer? Or will it move/flip you over to the 5gzh?
I need to be close to the smart device to pair it.
I’m not very tech friendly but I did what you said and walked away until the wifi discounted and walked back try to set up my obi and it fell
I forced my iPhone to forget the 5GHz network. Connected the iPhone to the 2.4GHZ network. Then uninstalled and re-installed the roborock app. Then went through setup again and went smoothly after that.
This is such a bullshit solution to a bullshit problem. I'm glad it works, but it shouldn't even be an issue. The people who make the firmware for these routers actively remove the ability to turn off the 5ghz network for no apparent reason. Like, the option was there in older firmware versions on some mesh routers, but now it's gone. Unbelievable.
Thank you. I used this method several times. But when I got my Netgear Oribi router I found that I could deselect the 5ghz and just use the 2.4 ghz…things got easier. Thank you again.
I cant wait to try this. I'm so tech stupid
All you do is separate the bands you can this on mesh
Great video thanks. I do believe POs at google haven’t addressed this on purpose and they want to make people walk a little. Its a feature not a bug 😂
I’m having issues connecting my smart garage to the WiFi be use of the 2.4 mhz issue! I also have a satellite, so my question is do I unplug the satellite before trying this solution?
Don't watch this next to your google speaker. Now my kitchen is blue.
After a year of owning a vacuum I couldn't connect to wifi, your tips got me connected to my Rockspace Mesh. Thanks a million!!!!!!!
Does this still work? I just tried it and I had no luck😭
Sorry, ot did not work. Two other channels said the same thing. After 5 attempts, I gave up trying to get my outside camera to connect. Maybe it has something to do with Xfinity.
Thank you 👍
So when you are far enough away to only connect to the 2 ghz, will the bluetooth/wifi on the device you are trying to connect still reach your phone?
Thank you. Your video was very detailed why more then some others.
Thanks 🥰
Brilliant!!! It worked like a charm.
