Is it ok to give a weakness that's totally unrelated to the line of work I'm interviewing for? For example, my genuine weakness is lack of spatial orientation. Maps and locations are a nightmare, so when I have to get anywhere I'll rely on GPS and just ask people where something is.

My biggest weakness is fear of public speaking
My biggest weakness is my ego. I think I can do it all and a fear of losing the project due to timelines or mistakes. Part of this comes from me not knowing my team strengths and weaknesses so that I can delegate. Learning my team and these aspects as well as their emotional capacity, learning styles helps me in this aspect. Otherwise it would be singing.

Your biggest weakness is NOT a "bona fide occupational qualification" and should be an illegal question. The HR wonk is not a psychiatrist and isn't YOUR psychiatrist. People should get sued for asking it.

The one that jumped out to me was having a difficult time saying no. It's something I've been working on personally, and I might even be able to point to my work in that as a sign that I'm self-aware and willing to work on self-improvement.

This question is garbage. Answer it this way: "May I ask you, in return, what your greatest weakness is? That will help me gauge whether I want to work for you!" Got a great job like this once. Another option is to say your greatest weakness is the incompetence of laziness of underperforming colleagues and why it's tolerated because I have no weakness. Never admit a weakness. Usually a trick question that will not get you hired if you dare admit to something in the heat of the moment.
