It’s actually insane to me that anyone making smart home content would actually say “Alexa” in a video without censoring it
I have a Tapo S200B Button, so when my mom press it once, it rings a bell in my room, that she needs me, Since I live on 1st floor and she is on Ground floor it makes so easy for her to call me whenever she wants, its a small battery operated button which she can carry everywhere.
When she double press it, it starts her favourite prayer playlist on her TV and it turns off after the video ends.
After carefully watching this, I've 2 comments: 1) wow, technology has come a long way; 2) I definitely don't need any of it 😂
My eight-year-old just showed me how to make an automation for my IPhone for when I plug it in and unplug it; so that it says funny saying in the process. 📱🔌
Everything I just saw this video is way advanced and over my head. But eventually, I’ll get there by watching all these channels. 😂
Good collaboration video. I now have to go back and watch the ones from all the other years too.😊
Something weird about 17:21 or before, is that really a 65" TV??? Standing just that distance from my 55" it would be as tall as my entire shirt, not just about half of it…. Don't want to say he's lying as I seriously doubt he is, but it's just weird. It doesn't look like he's standing that far from it. Has to be some weird camera lens, dunno… but looks like my 42" would be at that distance…
Handsome bearded man 😍
backlight on TV? UGH NOOOOOO
A 65" TV ISN'T large? whoa… 😀
Awesome job! Brought some of my fav youtubers together into 1 video. Well done!
Late to this video but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the collaboration! Thanks for bringing all these folks together!
I'm a little late seeing this video, it just now made it into my stream. Most of these guest are already in my stream. I think the only one that was missed was the handydad guy. Cheers for the share! I hope this continues to be a tradition.
Thank you Lewis for all your ideas and contributions to Home Automation. I wish you, including your family and friends a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year . All the Best.
That’s genius. Close your doors when a fire is detected to make it easier to get out.
I’m sorry but that doesn’t make your livestream fun my man
If someone could figure out not only to run YouTube on my Sony android TV, but to play a specific video, it would be awesome
1:55: my front door automation: a) if door (contact sensor) open, lock remains unlocked. b) if door closed, lock locks. c) if lock unlocked but door closed for more than three minutes, lock locks. This spares me ever closing the door while the lock is locked, and ensures that if someone unlocks the door but for some reason does not open it the door is quickly re-secured.
Another great video, I got some great ideas for my morning routines, BTW I have few automations that you may like
1) Keep the Switches on – I have few bulb outlets connected to the smart bulbs and my light automations go bananas every time my wife or daughter turns off the switches, I created an automation which will be triggered when the switches as turned off and it turns the switches back on, sends an announcement using the smart speaker of the room not to turn off the switches and turns of the lights after 15 seconds ( 15 seconds delay to ensure that the bulbs are connected to Wi-Fi)
2) in-store shopping reminders using HA zones, this will send a reminder to other person( if i am at store notify my wife and vice versa) to update the shopping list
3) turn off the lights and motion sensors in my home theater (Based on Denon AVR status) and turn lights and motion sensor on when the HT is turned off
Wishing you and your family Merry Christmas and a happy and successful 2023, hoping to see more products and videos from your side
Is that dude saying "artimation"?!
So cool to see everyone in one place . Good job binging everyone home for Christmas , Lewis
Loved this video! Super inspiring! It's fun to see all the youtubers i have seen when informing myself about smart homes and automations to be a kinda like a lil community i love it!
What a cool idea with excellent execution! You've taken collaboration to a whole new level! I've finally finished evaluating all of the different HA solutions and have decided to make the move from ISY / Insteon to Home Assistant. I have a pretty extensive investment in Insteon switches, outlets, sensors, etc., so my goal is to continue using that gear as I grow / expand my automation capabilities!
Thanks for putting this out here, it was awesome! Maybe next year, I can share one of my favorite automations!
How to avoid missing batteries that die…
Hard wire.
Why does Hibbert have sooooo many lube options on the night stand?
A dude created a motor to shut his doors if the smoke detectors go off? 🤔
Only thing that blows; if you lose wifi, most of these dont work
why would you need a motor to close the door you can just use one of those things that shut the door idk what they are called but you know the things over the door that makes sure it closes and cant be slammed
Hey Lewis, im personally wanting to replicate your morning announcment idea, with my own few twists, now that i have a speaker in my home. I was wondering what your code is for the annoucement itself, so i have a starting point.
Great video from you guys and very funny as well 😂😂
My first automation will be to have a temperature sensor inside my crock pot which is making yogurt – if the temperture goes above 42 C then it turns off the crock pot, if it goes below 38 C – turns it on. This way I can make 3 litres of yogurt instead of 1 in my little yogurt maker.
Make it a HUGE LIVE STREAM event next year, with LIVE Demos, calling in from different places, countries etc.
Chatgpt set up my home assistant triggers to my exact preferences
Hibert is the fucking man
My favorite home automation is this: I eat dinner (and sometimes lunch) in the family room and that almost always includes watching tv. The automation is as follows: when you turn off the tv (logitech harmony) it turns on the moen smart faucet in the kitchen to the hottest setting so that by the time I get to the sink I can rinse off my dishes to put them in the dishwasher. It then will turn off the lights in the family room (if they were on which is conditional from a light sensor) 5 minutes later.
